No. You collect your sample once, and every re-read works from the results you already have.

Saliva, collected with a gentle swab along your gums. No needles. For 30 minutes before you swab, please don’t eat, drink, smoke or chew gum. For GeneBaby, it’s a gentle swab along your baby’s gums, at least an hour after breast milk.

Every kit comes with the swab and its tube, step-by-step instructions, an activation card, a specimen bag, a seal and a prepaid return box. It ships straight from the lab.

The genetic tests you order for yourself come in one kit, with one swab to take at home. Oral Health DNA comes in its own kit, with its own swab. GeneBaby uses a separate gentle swab along your baby’s gums.

No. There’s no sales tax on our tests, so your total is the price of the tests you choose.

Our genetic tests have not been cleared or approved by the FDA. Results describe inherited traits and risks and are meant to inform decisions you make with your clinician. They are not a diagnosis.

That none of the variants the test looks for was found. Genotyping reads selected variants, so one it does not look for may still be present. Testing for inherited cancer risk is a screening test, not a diagnosis. A result with no variant found does not mean you will not develop cancer, and finding a variant does not mean you will. If you joined one of our earlier membership plans, you keep that plan unless you choose to cancel it. We won’t move you to GeneMatrix+ or change your plan without telling you first. Blood panels show how your body is doing now, so they are repeated. Your genome doesn’t change, so it only needs to be read once. Many people use both.

No. Your sample is genotyped: we read selected positions in the genes each test covers. Genotyping does not read every position in those genes, or your whole genome.
