How it works, step by step

    Order online and the kit comes by mail, straight from the lab, with the swab, its tube and everything you need to use it.

    Wait 30 minutes after eating or drinking, then rub the soft swab along your lower gums, 10 times on each side. Seal it in its tube and send it back as the kit explains.

  3. Genotyped in our lab

    Your saliva sample is genotyped in our own CLIA-certified lab in Chicago.

How strong is the evidence?

How we know: What is nutrigenomics? A plain-English guide to your genes and food

  1. Research on these traits is still developing, and some associations may not hold up as more studies are done.
  2. The associations describe tendencies across groups, not how you in particular respond to stress or sleep.
  3. Stress and sleep are also shaped by work, activity, circumstances and much else. A report on genetic traits accounts for none of them.
  4. A typical result does not mean you are in good health, and any other result is not a warning.
  5. The panel reads selected positions in the genes it lists. A variant at a position it does not read, or in a gene that is not on the panel, will not be found.
